Nasal reconstruction · scars · skin tumours

Dr. Shaoliang Wang is Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital and the lead physician of this site’s nasal reconstruction content. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, and brings more than two decades of tertiary-hospital surgical experience to his practice. He is referred to here as he and him.

His reconstructive practice covers the problems this site is built around: rebuilding nasal defects after skin cancer excision with margin control, scar revision and comprehensive scar management after trauma and burns, complex wound repair, and the correction of failed surgery from elsewhere. Nasal reconstruction in particular rewards his combination of tumour surgery and fine soft-tissue repair — a defect that must be cleared of disease first and rebuilt second, in layers, over months.

Clinical focus

  • Nasal reconstruction after skin cancer excision, trauma and infection

  • Repair of failed operations from elsewhere (revision and reconstruction)

A hospital-based advantage

A nasal reconstruction that needs margin control from pathology, a flap that needs close monitoring, or a complication that needs theatre-level care has all of it in the same building. Practicing inside a tertiary general hospital means that backstop is real, not theoretical.
